Palazzo Visconti, via Cino del Duca, 8. Milano / Aprile 2023 / NEUTRA
The exhibition starts the studio creative direction for NEUTRA and is the beginning of the company’s new direction – research in timeless elegance after the recent brand acquisition by Emanuele Chicco Busnelli, son of Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, historic B&B Italia founder.
The installation alternates material and visual vibrations, creating an immersive experience and taking the company’s story and knowledge to a new level. It invites you to listen to the material – marble, which is expressed by visual vibrations.
The installation showcases a selection of marble furnishings from NEUTRA’s new collection, including a sofa and two armchairs in classic Roman travertine designed by Mario Bellini, and a monumental Green Alps marble bathtub by STUDIOPIVA.The furnishings’ textural perception is enhanced by out-of-scale mirror elements and ceiling projections, which, like sinuous dynamic presences in the space, make objects dialogue with the Baroque frame and enhance their shapes and surfaces. Details are enhanced through reflections and subtle visual distortions.
Crossing the Palazzo’s main staircase, at the entrance hall, the spectacular Green Alps marble Daphne bathtub, designed by STUDIOPIVA, stands out. This monumental piece of furniture evokes classical Greek mythology. Its name and sinuous shapes recall the nymph associated with water. The image of fluidity, amplified using digital surfaces and special lighting systems, pervades the bathtub shapes, while
the workmanship of the surfaces recalls the ring-like waves that are created at the water’s edge. The METI lamp, designed by STUDIOPIVA is presented in this hall.
The series is based on a single circular model and available in different sizes and materials – marble and onyx. After the entrance hall, there is the majestic main hall where decorative elements from the Rococo and Neo-Rococo eras blend harmoniously in a perfect stylistic union. At centre stage there are a sofa and two armchairs in classic Roman travertine, part of the LA GRANDE MURAGLIA 2023 project by internationally renowned master Mario Bellini. The furnishings are made of a solid classic Roman travertine structure which houses the enveloping upholstery of the seats, armrests and backrests. Flanking this central seating area is the new THEIA table and stool range designed by STUDIOPIVA, where marble is skilfully combined with bronze.
