Via Solferino 11. Milan / April 2003 / Boffi
For the opening of Boffi’s Milano showroom, the firm’s history is recounted by a dynamic installation that uses 200 meters of ribbon images and graphics. Hung from the ceiling, they run across a flexible transparent support and are overlaid with as many meters of variable-field electroluminescent lighting which switches on with programmed dissolves.
The interpretation of superimposed images unfolds continuously, supplemented by synchronized animations projected onto three transparent holographic screens suspended among the ribbons.
On the floor above, the story is run horizontally through a sequence of rooms and allows for a closer reading of the images. In the external courtyard graphic animations are projected on a 6 x 6 meters screen.
