Drawing inspiration from the past, the Studio reinterprets the refined heritage of Piedmontese cabinetmaking from the interwar period to shape Bau – a storage piece that bridges tradition and contemporary design.
Bau becomes a modern expression of classic Italian craftsmanship, conceived as a composition of overlapping volumes that convey quiet solidity, balance, and a distinctly Savoyard sensibility. Its structure is defined by softly rounded edged doors, crafted entirely in lacquered wood with a subtle metallic finish, resting above a base articulated as a single marble drawer. The recessed joints between elements create a gentle rhythm of light and shadow, animating the architectural form with understated depth and movement.
Though marked by a strong sculptural presence, Bau reveals a more intimate character – almost that of a private chest, discreet and personal. Its balanced proportions and softly contoured silhouette allow it to inhabit diverse environments, from walk-in wardrobes to living spaces, expressing a contemporary language that is measured, refined, and timeless.
Presented in Azul Macaubas marble, size: 120 x 43 x h 160 cm.
Additional marble options and different sizes are available.
