In Warsaw is hold the the biggest collection related to Fryderyk Chopin with more than 5,000 items, including musical manuscripts, printed scores, correspondence, personal items (cufflinks, diaries etc.), iconography, as well as biographical works about him and critical commentaries on his compositions and his reception as a composer.
The project is developed like an “open museum” made of different theme paths the visitors may choose to follow. The visitor may freely explore the creative itinerary of Chopin as composer and pianist, at the same time receiving guidance in his discovery of the most important places and events which have characterized his life.
The project itself, although it dialogues with the architectural and structural elements of the Ostrogski Palace,  goes along with the creative development of the contents defining a multilayer and multimodal message, addresses to different audience/public. Taking into account the rules and limits of perception  and employing new media in a way reflecting current best practice it allows the visitor a unique freely use (adults, kids, young people, experts, starters …).
The need to exhibit with clarity and immediacy different thematic areas determined the development of different exhibition structures which comprise a system of emotional landscapes and soundscape capable of capturing the attention and curiosity of the visitors by stimulating all their senses.
The interactive multimedia systems have been designed as an instrument by means of which the visitors may study the contents of the different rooms in depth, thus allowing them to choose how and when to read them. It permits the connection between music, objects and information.
The use of RFID technology allows customization of the audio-visual content, which will be set on four levels: basic, advanced, for children and for the visually impaired.
Each level will be presented in eight languages.
By memorizing the paths selected by the visitors, this system will allow the museum to create a database that will be used to optimize the contents.
